Maclean’s Mansion Redevelopment
Completion expected in 2027
CPMC Limited has been engaged as Project Managers to lead the redevelopment of the iconic McLean’s Mansion in Christchurch — one of New Zealand’s most significant heritage properties.
Located at 387 Manchester Street, this extraordinary 53-room Jacobean mansion is considered one of the world’s largest surviving Victorian timber houses. Following years of vacancy after the Canterbury earthquakes, the project represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to restore and reimagine this landmark for the future.
The vision is to transform McLean’s Mansion into a vibrant arts and cultural destination featuring hospitality, gallery and exhibition spaces, boutique retail, heritage workspaces, accommodation, and landscaped public spaces — while carefully preserving the building’s rich architectural and historical character.
The wider redevelopment also includes potential high-density residential opportunities fronting Bealey Avenue, supporting the long-term viability of this important heritage asset.
CPMC Limited is proud to be leading the consenting, design coordination, and delivery strategy for this complex and exciting project. We look forward to sharing the journey as this landmark is brought back to life for future generation.
The project commenced in May 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2027.
